Vision Statement

The Catlow 1927 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions a revitalized Catlow Theatre. Once a beacon in the Northwest suburbs, it will now become a cultural hub for our community:

• Preserving the rich history of The Catlow, we aim to restore its iconic marquee, the intricate works of Alfonso Iannelli, and all of its historic features to their former glory.
• By embracing modern technologies and amenities, we plan to transform the theatre into a versatile space, hosting not only classic movie nights but also live shows, concerts, comedians, weddings/receptions, private parties, and community events.
• Our vision extends beyond the auditorium, with the addition of a new lounge and bar in the former Boloney’s and dentist spaces, equipped with a full catering kitchen for local restaurants to contribute to the theatre's vibrant atmosphere.
• Starting with essential exterior repairs, we intend to address the roof and masonry, followed by comprehensive interior renovations, including new electrical and plumbing, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and a versatile retractable screen for various events.
• The success of this vision relies on the support and generous donations from the community during our capital campaign. This will ensure that The Catlow Theatre becomes a dynamic space to create lasting memories and celebrate the arts in our beloved town of Barrington. We are preparing The Catlow Theatre for its next hundred years!
