Vision Statement

The Catlow 1927 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions a revitalized Catlow Theatre. Once a beacon in the Northwest suburbs, it will now become a cultural hub for our community:

Preserving the rich history of The Catlow, we aim to restore its iconic marquee, the intricate works of Alfonso Iannelli, and all of its historic features to their former glory.
By embracing modern technologies and amenities, we plan to transform the theatre into a versatile space, hosting not only classic movie nights but also live shows, concerts, comedians, weddings/receptions, private parties, and community events.
Our vision extends beyond the auditorium, with the addition of a new lounge and bar in the former Boloney’s and dentist spaces, equipped with a full catering kitchen for local restaurants to contribute to the theatre's vibrant atmosphere.
Starting with essential exterior repairs, we intend to address the roof and masonry, followed by comprehensive interior renovations, including new electrical and plumbing, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and a versatile retractable screen for various events.
The success of this vision relies on the support and generous donations from the community during our capital campaign. This will ensure that The Catlow Theatre becomes a dynamic space to create lasting memories and celebrate the arts in our beloved town of Barrington. We are preparing The Catlow Theatre for its next hundred years!
